SIEMENS WM14S383 WASHING MACHINE
Monday, 12 Apr 2010 ~ Posted by Mook
You may have read my blog last year, when I discussed what you should look for in a washing machine.
Well the Siemens WM14S383 pretty much ticks every box for what the modern household demands.
I’ll keep this simple, because thats exactly what the machine is.
First things first. Capacity - 8KG. Thats over 17lbs of washing. Or in real terms, thats enough for a Double duvet. Don’t worry about not using all that space though. All Siemens machines have an auto half load function so you needn’t worry about wasting water or electricity.
Spin speed next – 1400rpm. Thats pretty fast considering machines barely span at 1000rpm 10 years ago. Ideally you don’t want underwear and the like spun so fast it’ll damage them, so the machine automatically slows the spin to protect your garments. Again, you have manual control of the spin speed to eliminate excessive creasing on sheets and the like.
Obviously it has all the usual cotton, woolen and delicate programmes, but the programme selector is as simple as they come. Choose the material, choose the temperature, press start. If you want to run an intensive wash, add an axtra rinse, or reduce to spin speed, it takes just one touch of a button. Very straightforward.
And now the best bit. The Warranty. All current Siemens Washing machines come with 5 YEAR PARTS AND LABOUR WARRANTY. Consider how much a “cheap” washing machine costs, and how long it’ll last. £200? 3 years?
Consider then the WM14S383 retails for £549.99, and that includes local delivery, installation, and disposal of your old machine.
So, in summary. Big capacity, fast spin speed, long warranty, simple to use.
Worth a look!
