Gtech SW02 Rechargable floor sweeper
Monday, 19 Oct 2009 ~ Posted by Mook
IN STOCK – £49.99
Ok, so not as exciting as a 50″ Plasma TV or Range Cooker, but to a lot of our customers just as important. The GTECH is a rechargeable floor sweeper, much like the Eubanks of old. The point? It’s an extremely lightweight method of cleaning floors for mum’s in a hurry, people with bad backs, and the older generation when getting the big Hoover out becomes too much.
It’s a very simple machine. When you open the extremely compact box, you’ll find the GTECH itself and its handle in 3 parts. These couldn’t be easier to assemble as they clip together in a single direction. You’ll also find a mains lead stored in the sweepers dust collection chamber. Take this out and plug it in to the socket on the back of the sweeper.
The GTECH has an internal rechargeable battery, which will take about 16 hours to charge and will give around 60 minutes run time on a single charge. More than enough time to do a few rooms around the house. The first thing you notice about the GTECH is its weight. Or more importantly, the lack of it. Incredibly it weighs just 1.6kg that’s just three and a half lbs!
Once it’s charged, it couldn’t be easier to use. Unplug it from the mains
adaptor, and press the big on/off switch with your foot. Despite its compact size, it stirs into life with some vigour and on the carpet in the shop, it quickly picks up any small pieces of dirt or debris brought in by the days trade. On this sort of carpet it’s very impressive, making light work of the job at hand. Considering how much hassle it is getting the big vacuum out, this is an ideal alternative for keeping the place tidy day to day. The machine moves easily over the carpets and is extremely straightforward to manoeuvre.
If you have trouble with your back, or simply want to give the room a quick “buzz over” you can’t go wrong with the GTECH. Great pick-up with extremely low weight makes it an ideal solution.
This is what GTECH themselves say
The GTECH Model SW02 is the “crème de la crème” of the sweeper world and winner of the “Best New Product” category at the British Housewares Federation Awards 2004. GTECH’s latest addition shares many features with the million-selling SW01: • Rechargeable battery pack giving a 60 minute running time • Powered “edge-to-edge” cleaning • Handheld operation for cleaning stairs and upholstery • Easy- empty, large capacity dust tray. The SW02 model also has an adjustable telescopic handle. Ideal for…. • Family households • Pet owners • People who suffer with arthritis or a bad back • The elderly • Boats, motorhomes and caravans

As the aformentioned wife I support what Alan says, I love my little Gtech. It’s great for when the place needs cleaning but I’m too lazy to get out the main vacuum cleaner, or for the quick panic clean before guests arrive.
