Freeview HD, it’s actually rather good you know…
Tuesday, 08 Jun 2010 ~ Posted by Mook
We’ve had in stock, for some weeks now, FreeviewHD Televisions. All day long they show the BBC HD Preview channel, which looks very pretty, BUT it’s very difficult to tell how good it is because you can’t watch the same channel on a non-FreeviewHD Television.
Until now.
The tennis from Queens is currently showing in HD and on normal BBC and putting the two next to each other shows a massive difference. The SD picture is good…the HD picture is simply better. Much sharper with much more detail, most noticably on the Nets, which are a blur in SD, but you can see the string clearly in HD.

Although the frames are slightly out, and the pics are taken on an iPhone, the difference on the writing and crowd is clear to see.

Look at the net and the crowd. yes the camera isn't the best, but these two shots have NOT BEEN ALTERED at all and were taken at the same time
The crowd are clearly more detailed, and because of the extra detail, the image takes on a more three dimensional appearance. There is simply more depth to the pictures.
I think sport is really where the FreeviewHD comes into it’s own, and with the World Cup and Wimbeldon coming up the amount of sport on TV this summer is incredible.
Add on Trade-in deals and long Warranties, and there’s never been a better time to buy a new TV
Pop in to see the full picture!!
