How do I re-tune my Panasonic TV or Recorder?

PANASONIC TV;
There is a good chance your Panasonic TV will recognise the change automatically during the day, and show you the familiar white “New Channels Found!” message when you switch it on. If so, just do what you usually do when this message appears – press the OK button and leave it for a bit. If this message doesn’t appear, however, follow the simple instructions below;
1) Switch on the TV and make sure you’re looking at a Freeview channel.
2) Press “Menu” on your remote control.
3) A box will appear on your TV screen, with three options – “Picture”, “Sound” and “Setup”. Press the down arrow button (it’s below the “OK” button), until the word “Setup” is lit up in yellow. Press the “OK” button on your remote.
4) A much bigger box will appear, with several options. Keep pressing the down arrow button until either “Tuning Menu” or “DVB Tuning Menu” is lit up in yellow. Press the OK button.
5) Nearly there! Yet another box will appear. There should be an option here for “Auto Tuning”, or maybe “Auto Setup” on some TVs. Press the down arrow button until this option is lit in yellow. Now press the OK button.
6) The TV may ask you if you want to proceed. If so, press the OK button one final time.
7) A new screen will appear, with “Auto Tuning” or “Auto Setup” written at the top. After a moment, you’ll see a white bar moving across the top of the screen. There’s nothing more you need to do now, just put the remote down and leave it. It’ll take a few minutes, then take you back to BBC1 automatically.
8) Job done!
Remember to keep these instructions safe. You will have to do this several more times over the next few years due to the digital switchover.
PANASONIC RECORDER;
There is a good chance your Panasonic recorder will recognise the change automatically during the day, and show you the familiar blue “New Channels Found!” message when you switch it on. If so, just do what you usually do when this message appears – press the left hand arrow button until the word “Yes” is lit in yellow, then press the OK button and leave it for a bit. If this message doesn’t appear, however, follow the simple instructions below;
1) Switch on the TV and recorder. Everything from this point on is done on the recorder remote control, so make sure this is the one you’re using.
2) Press “Functions” on the remote control. On some models, this may be labelled “Function Menu”.
3) A box will appear on your TV screen with several options. At the bottom will be the option “To Others”. Press the down arrow button (it’s below the “OK” button), until the words “To Others” are lit up in yellow. Press the “OK” button on your remote.
4) On the right of the screen, more options will appear. At the bottom is the option “Setup”. Keep pressing the down arrow button until “Setup” is lit up in yellow. Press the OK button.
5) Now, a large blue screen will appear. On the left near the top, the option for “Tuning” should already be lit in yellow. Press the “OK” button. On the right hand side, the option “Auto Setup Restart” should be lit in yellow. Press the OK button once more.
6) The recorder may ask you if you’re sure you want to continue. Press the left arrow button until the word “Yes” is lit in yellow. Press the OK button one final time.
7) A new screen will appear, with “DVB Auto Tuning” written at the top. After a moment, you’ll see a green bar moving across the top of the screen. There’s nothing more you need to do now, just put the remote down and leave it. It’ll take a few minutes, then tell you it’s setting the clock for you. It will then return to BBC1.
8) Job done!
Remember to keep these instructions safe. You will have to do this several more times over the next few years due to the digital switchover.
